
Acting Class
Directors will learn to: be safe for actors on every level, prep a part or scene as an actor, block scenes as an actors’ director, employ intentions, break down scenes into beats, work with actors to solve script problems through improv, use movement and actors’ objectives to find compositions and overall visual approach, speak your actors’ language by working yourself as an actor in the workshop, anchor purity of vision. Actors will practice craft through: movement, blocking, text analysis, sensory work, objectives, improv, free-writing, scene study, relationships within scenes, relationship to directorial notes, honoring your instrument, knowing what you need to work, dissolving obstacles, becoming safe for other actors.
