Artists' Workshop

Harrison’s Artist's Workshop has been an extraordinary and inspiring experience for me. The workshop has given me so many new tools as a director, that I immediately began using and are now part of my vocabulary. The workshop taught me how to talk with actors, how to prep a scene, how to break down a scene, how to build a personal relationship with the material and use sensory work and other techniques to elevate the scenes. It also gave me insight on where to look for inspiration, how to commit to my art, how to get in touch with the artist inside me and how to survive as an artist in the world. The workshop also creates an inspiring and friendly environment to grow and develop, giving me the opportunity to connect with other artists and learn from them as well. It's great to see how myself and others have developed through this workshop. If you want to grow as an artist- this is a must!

Harrison James doesn’t limit the stage to basic acting/directing, rather she creates a safe, yet expansive, space for technique, discipline, inspiration, and most importantly, craft. A sophisticated playground in which a student leaves well-exercised, with more experience and savvy relevant to their career, but also relevant to the entire industry itself. Her class feels reminiscent to the artistic freedom and illumination of The Group Theatre of the 30’s, and the Hotel Chelsea of the 60’s, while also innovating for a revolutionary future of stage and screen. Harrison’s classroom is a vanguard for modern acting/directing, and Harrison herself, really knows her shit.

I have been working with Harri for more than two years now, and I can honestly say (as someone who has tried many coaches) that Harri is the most talented, insightful, and worthwhile creative coach I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She has helped me find truth and clarity in the midst of my most confusing transitions, and I can always count on her to guide me in the right direction. She has brought about miracles in our work together, and there are no words that truly fit the confidence with which I recommend her to anyone looking to bring about small and large changes in his or her life. Expect profound shifts in consciousness from the very first session. Harri is a true gem.

Before working with Harrison, I dreamt of working with a coach like her. When I was introduced to the idea of a creative coach, I was in a dark place. I was coming out of a really toxic relationship, was doing detrimental actions to my health, and was delusional about my current life. I needed help getting healthy, finding my true self, and discovering my purpose and calling. I didn’t know there was such a thing as a person to help me with that until I met Harrison. I didn’t know what a life coach was but I knew I needed someone who would help me reach my goals. Now, going on four years later, I am thriving. Within the first year of working with Harrison, I discovered my purpose and started to really focus my intentions. After consistently building my practice with her on a weekly basis, I have grown into the woman I have always imagined myself to be. I am a six-figure health professional, a sponsored triathlete, an entrepreneur, and a visionary. I continue to work with her weekly, and I continue to build and create the life of my dreams. I feel liberated, powerful, and vibrant from my work with her. I am eternally grateful for her time and expertise. I fully believe I can do anything I set my heart on through the work I've done with Harrison. She has helped me achieve goals and dreams that I used to think I wasn't good enough to do. Harrison James is one of the most brilliant, hilarious & down-to-earth creative coaches I have ever worked with. Harrison is a badass. She has supported and guided me through tremendous shifts in every area of my life for over almost a decade now.
